Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Certificate Issuers

When completing your LPA, the LPA Form will have to be witnessed and certified by an LPA Certificate Issuer. Any one of the following professionals in Singapore can be the Certificate Issuer for your LPA:

  1. a medical practitioner accredited by the Public Guardian;
  2. a practising lawyer; or
  3. a registered psychiatrist

We are qualified Certificate Issuer for Lasting Powers of Attorney.

You may appoint an attorney (donee) to deal with your property and affairs, including your healthcare and welfare should you lose your mental capacity to manage your finances.

We provide advice on the implications and the use of Lasting Powers of Attorney and assist in the preparation of the necessary documentation and registration with the Office of Public Guardian.

We will explain the terms and implication of the LPA to you as there are legal consequences empowering your Attorney with the specified powers in Form 1 or drafted powers in Form 2.

For those who are engaging us to do a Will and LPA at the same time, please let our solicitor know so that we can give you a more competitive price. For LPA, Form 1 our charges start from S$250/- onwards.

Where there are no Lasting Power of Attorney in place and the person has lost his/her mental capacity to manage his/her own financial affairs, we can assist the family member(s) in making an application to Court for the said member(s) to be appointed as the deputy(ies) to manage the finances, property and affairs of the mentally incapacitated loved one.
